Microsoft Office 2008 Pisses me off…

March, 2008

I’ll admit, I’m a huge advocate of Mac/Apple/iPod/iTouch/blah blah blah… But what pisses me off to know end is that Microsoft has sort of dwindled away from supporting “non-PC” users.

What I mean here, is that I use Excel quite often. Crunching numbers, tracking percentages, what have you. But, I’ve been obsessed with this sports website lately, and a lot of work goes into Excel and punching out numbers with it….

Here’s my problem. Excel on a PC allows you to find connect to a source (www.protrade.com) and track changes on the site. Protrade, a fantasy sports website, in the “stock exchange” form, has a lot of fluctuating stocks. I would like to keep tabs on these fluctuating stocks, but unfortunately for me, Microsoft doesn’t like “me” the Mac user.

I get this message each time:

This file contains Visual Basic macros

Visual Basic macros do not work in Office 2008 for Mac. To open the file and remove macros, click Open and Remove Macros. To open the file and keep macros, click Open.

Please, JP, all knowing god of the universe, explain this to me!
