Paper and Publish button

May, 2008

I’m so glad I discovered the publish button today. Took me 2 weeks to remember that ‘save’ and ‘publish’ are two different things…

Anyhow, I figured out a IT system that would solve all of BMC Remedy’s issues. Best part about it, is my own uncle created the program back in the 80s/90s.

CAFM Solutions and CAFM Tools were created to eliminate “muda” in big businesses. Companies, such as Fox and Toyota Motors (JPPPPP), already have found use of CAFM and has employed it in a few of their divisions.

You’re going to have to read the paper to find out the rest…

Systems in Organization

May, 2008

Day 3 on my wonderous, around the campus presentations.

….

Even worse then day 2. I’m so glad I’m graduating. Enough with these presentations.

Just need to get on with the paper…hopefully that is better.

Entrepreneurship

May, 2008

Well my speach didn’t go over so well during presentations… in fact, it bombed. I couldn’t have asked for a worse presentation to go over.

This was my 2nd presentation out of 3 in a row (Advertising, Entrepreneurship, Systems) and by far the least prepared piece of junk out of the first 2.

I guess it was of no surprise, but my group has little communication (hence the fact two of my partners stood up there like deer in headlight). However, this wasn’t my idea for an elevator pitch, so it was rather frustrating to work on.

Midterm reaction…

April, 2008

After receiving my grade and finding out that I had passed the first test, I was actually quite glad I passed. After not answering the mathematical question, as well as feeling shaky on how I responded to a few of the other questions, I came into class last Thursday expecting everything BUT a 75%.

However, a 75% is not suitable for me and I hope to improve on this grade immensely.

In the mean time, please read this article as I find that it is quite humorous.

Microsoft Office 2008 Pisses me off…

March, 2008

I’ll admit, I’m a huge advocate of Mac/Apple/iPod/iTouch/blah blah blah… But what pisses me off to know end is that Microsoft has sort of dwindled away from supporting “non-PC” users.

What I mean here, is that I use Excel quite often. Crunching numbers, tracking percentages, what have you. But, I’ve been obsessed with this sports website lately, and a lot of work goes into Excel and punching out numbers with it….

Here’s my problem. Excel on a PC allows you to find connect to a source (www.protrade.com) and track changes on the site. Protrade, a fantasy sports website, in the “stock exchange” form, has a lot of fluctuating stocks. I would like to keep tabs on these fluctuating stocks, but unfortunately for me, Microsoft doesn’t like “me” the Mac user.

I get this message each time:

This file contains Visual Basic macros

Visual Basic macros do not work in Office 2008 for Mac. To open the file and remove macros, click Open and Remove Macros. To open the file and keep macros, click Open.

Please, JP, all knowing god of the universe, explain this to me!

I would like to reiterate my interest in fark.com, simply for the (non-sexual) pleasure it brings me each time I type in the URL. I have long been an avid youtuber, and get my kicks from hearing stories about Korean families and Leeroy Jenkins (if you haven’t heard of him, youtube him).

Anyhow, I thought this story was worth reading, as I found it on fark. It’s only 3 paragraphs, so I don’t find it necessary to paraphrase.

My site

February, 2008

Coming up with an initial blog entry is a lot easier said then done. First of all, a million ideas go through my head about what to write. However, these ideas keep popping up faster that I can type, so I don’t feel an entry about: “Steelers, Football, Video Games, Entrepreneurship, Business, Friday night, etc…” is necessarily the right way to go about it.  However, there is one thing that I would like to bring up and possibly, get some feedback in the process.

Last semester I took a web design class at USF and I thought it would be very helpful in throwing a standard website together. Unfortunately, after taking the class, I realize that my skills in other areas, I.E. photoshop, were pretty terrible. So, even though I was able to through together a pretty useful sight, the aim or goal of the site, was kind of odd.

Photography is a hobby of mine, and my no means a profession. From the website I have set up, I have noticed that I should brush up on my photoshopping skills, or just picture taking in general. However, my goal with this webblog, is to possibly find someone out there who could be helpful, possibly experimental, with helping me find a way to further enhancing my photography skills.

This is the link … http://usffiles.usfca.edu/Student/sjmagner/www/  … please, go ahead, critique, make fun of, but ultimately, I want you opinion. What works? What jumps out? Does anything jump out? Also, is there anything of which you may no how to change?

Thanks to all of those who have read this.
